It was 9:34 AM and Tess Kemper was struggling to remember the name of her client’s youngest grandchild who was the star of his current story. She knew the name but a big part of her brain was still on vacation. A text came in and she glanced at her phone on the desk in front of her.

Tess’s floor was all but deserted by 5:08 when Lisa arrived, a little out of breath.
“FYI, security locked the door to the skywalk after I came through so we’ll have to take the street and it’s getting cloudy and windy.”
“They already locked it?” Tess asked.

The first two chapters will introduce you to our main characters, the setting, and the beginning of the plot. This is your chance to familiarize yourself with the story, find out what the question is, and decide whether you want to take part in influencing how the rest of the story goes.

Each month thereafter, a new chapter of the story will release on the 1st.
You have until the 7th of each month to read the chapter and submit your vote.

*In December 2026, only one chapter will be released to allow your writer time with family for the holidays.
The 2nd voting deadline will be the 22nd of each month. Submit your choice by 11:59 PM Mountain Time.

By September 2027, we will have 25 Chapters of our novel. This may be The End. But, if things are not quite finished, there will be one last question, and one last vote.

Of course! You must be a member at the time of voting for your choice to count for that chapter. But join us or leave us at your will.

While the Push My Pen Novel is going on, there will be four emails per month. These will notify you of when the newest chapters drop and remind you of the voting deadlines. They will also include news about my other work and bonus material about Push My Pen like character backstories and music recommendations.

Maybe I’ll do it again! (Someone can be this crazy two times in a row, right?) I’ll probably take a break from Push My Pen to work on other projects at which point the number of newletters will decrease to 1/per month. But assuming readers/listeners had fun with Push My Pen, I’ll probably do it again with a new storyand maybe an all-new genre.
