What’s Up this Month? You may recall that I recently submitted a short story for possible publication in an anthology. These collections feature only authors who are members of an international writing group. My piece made it through two rounds of consideration but was rejected in the final round. I’m actually okay with this – I didn’t feel the story was my strongest work. It wasn’t the one I had planned to submit, it was the one that was finished in time. Naturally every writer wants to be published but I want to put my best foot forward when I am. Now, I’m facing a busy June. I submitted a set of three poems to Boulevard Magazine’s contest. This weekend I have my second attempt at a chapter for the Collaborative Writing Challenge. I also have an idea for a starter chapter for their upcoming project which will be a Fantasy or YA Fantasy novel. My attempt will be due by the 30th. I’m thinking of submitting some work for a Nanofiction contest. The deadline for that is July 1st The theme for the next short story anthology for that writing group has been announced and I have a piece that’s perfect but needs to be rewritten. Granted that deadline is not until November 1st, but I don’t want to procrastinate. My schedule won’t be much easier for the next four months. And most importantly, I’m nearing the end of my second round of edits on my WIP. I’m *hoping* to be through another couple of edits and ready for beta readers by the end of the month. We’ll see how that goes. *EDIT* Oh, yeah! I'm also starting to do reviews for OurWriteSide.com! Free review copies in exchange for honest reviews! You'll get to see them as I'll be posting them here. Great fun! Hope you’re enjoying the start of summer!
