Well, the second quarter has officially come to a close and it’s time to check in with my goals and make new ones.
My Second Quarter 2016 Goals were:
How’d I do?
#1) It will be ready for beta readers by 7/8! My hubby already has a copy!
#2) I have begun outlining the novella and also a trilogy I have planned for after the novella!
#3) I have done some research on self-pub. I’m still planning to go that route with my current WIP.
#4) I have been researching editors. I have a couple on the short list and will be contacting them soon. And beta reader recruiting begins in the next week!
So, I didn’t do too shabby this quarter. Especially when you factor in two of my chapters being accepted into the Collaborative Writing Challenge’s upcoming novel The Map. I also submitted a potential first chapter for their next project. I submitted to two contests this quarter and have a couple more lined up for next quarter. I’ve also been enjoying reviewing for Our Write Side.
My 3rd Quarter 2016 goals:
I also have the NYC Midnight Flash Fiction Challenge coming up and another chapter attempt for CWC. It’ll be a busy quarter for me professionally and personally, but I’m psyched to get started!
By next Friday, 07/08 at the latest, I will be posting a blog and video about beta readers. If you’ve been wondering what a beta reader does and how to become one, that post will tell you. And my WIP will officially be ready! So I’ll be letting readers know how to contact me if they are interested in being among the first to read my post-apocalyptic romance!
Happy Independence Day weekend to all the US peeps! Stay safe and have fun!
