NaNo 2017 - Day 2 Today's word count = 2,390 Today was easier. It flowed pretty well and I was feeling excited about the project and the month ahead. Which was 180 degrees different from a couple of days ago when I was going back and forth on whether I should do Nano at all this year and which project seemed like the best prospect. I thought I'd share that little tidbit with you all so that you know you don't have to feel 100% confident to dive in and give Nano a shot. "Dragonguard" is a huge project and very different from anything I've ever done or ever thought I'd be doing. It's intimidating.
When I asked my husband to glance at the chart and tell me which project he thought I should do this year, he said without hesitating, "Do the dragon one." It's the one I've been talking about. The project whose characters have grabbed hold of me. The project that gets bigger and harder and scarier every time I think of it. But it's the one I have passion for and one thing I've needed to reclaim over the last year is my passion for the process. Who knows what will come of the hours I spend at the keyboard this November? Maybe an eventually publishable novel. Maybe not. But it's worth an honest try. And that's the spirit of Nano.
