Week 4: Day 19: Day 20: I spent two days sick. It was enough that I managed to get my kids to school and Scouts. I’m trying not to get down about it. I’m now way short of my personal goal but I’m still on track for Nano’s 50,000 word goal. I just need to keep my motivation up for the rest of the month, finish Nano, and then keep going long in enough into December to finish this thing! Day 21: One writing session today but it felt very good an flowed pretty well. Felt up to tackling some plot problems today and had a few things come out of left field. Could work out okay. Added 1,894 words. Day 22: Wrote 74 words, which may seem laughable but considering that I had planned to take Thanksgiving off, I think it’s pretty good! Day 23: First session went pretty well. Got in 1,366 words and lucky I did because my plan to write in the evening became a plan to get away from the house and blow off steam for a bit and I only got the one session in. I did do some other marketing-type authorly stuff I’ve been putting off, though. Overall, a success even if the word count is a little short. (See? Staying positive!) Day 24: 1,132 in first session which was much shorter than I’d hoped. Having the kiddos home but my husband at work is challenging. I think I made a good, if tough choice for the direction of the story. Backed it up. Day 25: 2,557 words added today in two sessions. I’m seeing a new path to the ending and feeling excited about the project again. Glad to be in the homestretch.
