Nano2018 - Week3 Wrap-up

Week 3:

Day 12: Started off with a bang despite getting a later start. My darling daughter slept for a couple of hours and I got in some errands plus 2,353 words. I’m managing not to go back and read over what I’ve written even though I’m concerned that the pacing is a little slow or that the novel is going to be longer than I wanted it. I’ve already been jotting down questions for beta readers but dang it, I don’t even know what my characters look like! This Nano ride is a wild one sometimes. - - Got in another writing session tonight. I’m ending the day with a total of 25,602 words. I also spent some time today making some changes to upcoming scene cards, combining some that make sense and modifying the plot to allow for unexpected character changes. I think it’ll help me down the line.

Day 13: Groove thrown off a bit. Had to get blood drawn in the A.M., then had to concede the office to the hubby for a bit. First session showed the change in routine. - - Welp. *sigh* With less that 500 words for the day, I’m calling it. It’s been a rotten, unmotivated day for me and I need a mental health break. Hoping to come at it strong tomorrow.

Day 14: Better so far. I sat down this morning with a drive to make up for yesterday’s debacle. 1,132 in first session. - - Did another session in the late afternoon. Added 2,801 words today. Backed up my work, also.

Day 15: Halfway! But a big FAIL today. 0 words written.

Day 16: 1280 in my morning session. Hoping to make up for my rough days. Second session rocked. Added1459 words and got to a big turning point in the book. Things should roll faster from here on out I hope. We’ll see.

Day 17: Slow start for the day. Local write-in cancelled due to snow and I didn’t get around to a home writing session until 3:55. This has been one of those days when writing absolutely sucked. I had no focus and no inspiration. I knew where I was headed thanks to my plot but I was just dragging dead weight to get there. By 5:30, I had managed only 695 words. I was proud of myself for hitting the keyboard again tonight. I managed to scrounge up 2242 words from the molasses that is my brain today and I’m pretty satisfied with that.

Day 18: Added 1248 word today which was pretty good considering I didn’t get started until around 9 PM and I was exhausted from a busy day. I’m short short short of my goal but I’m still in line to get at least the 50,000. I haven’t let a few rough days make me give up on my goal to finish this book this month.
End of the Week Word Count: 35,137
