I’ve been doing quarterly writing goals for a while now, and I’ve found it to be a great way to keep myself focused. However, this year has been busy and it’s become easier to forget about goals I set three months ago and harder to remember to set new ones.
So, I’ve decided to set my goals on a monthly basis for a bit and see how that goes!
Writing Goals - August 2017
Complete outline and character development/world-building sheets by the time school starts
I’m working on four different projects right now. No joke! In the next couple of weeks I want to flesh them all out and test the waters a bit to see if I can get one to emerge as the priority. Then, I want to be ready to dig in and start the actual writing by the time both of my kiddos are in school. For those precious 2 ½ hours 4 days a week, (my daughter is in preschool) I plan to put my butt in the chair and put words on the page
Plan out a blog schedule for fall
You may have noticed that it’s been a little quiet around here lately. It’s been a busy summer. And it’s also destined to be a busy fall. So, to manage my time better, I need to start planning out some blog posts.
Iron out some business details
I have a few things to deal with for my website and for Sturnella Publishing (mailbox renewal, domain name renewal, etc.) I want to get all that taken care of before it’s due.
So, that’s that! Do you set monthly goals? Quarterly? Let me know in the comments!
