First Quarter 2017 Goals

Happy New Year! Is it too late to be saying that? Eh. It’s still the first half of the month. We’ll go with it.

It’s been a quiet start to my 2017 – at least, it’s been quiet on my blog. I’ve had some minor issues getting the print version of
The Scarring Underneath ready for release and I’ve been dealing with that. And I’ve been spending some time with my family. I’ve also been doing something completely crazy – reading just for myself. Books that I just want to read with no intention of reviewing or analyzing (when I can keep myself from it, that is!)

For my first blog post of 2017, I’d like to set some quarterly goals. I fell off of keeping track of these things in the last half of 2016. Mainly, my goals then were simple: Finish TSU, Keep family fed, Keep up with all my CWC tasks, Survive. Anyway, here we go:

First Quarter 2017 Goals
  • Bring Esyld’s Awakening to a successful conclusion
    • If you’re new to the blog, Esyld’s Awakening is a collaborative project I’m coordinating for the Collaborative Writing Challenge. It’s a very complicated fantasy written by over 20 international authors. I love coordinating it and I hope to finish strong. We’ll be completing the first draft in March.
  • Promote The Scarring Underneath
    • I’ve run a couple small ads on Facebook and Instagram and I hope to do two more in the next month or so. I need to hurry to get some ARCs out and signed copies delivered to my amazing beta readers. I’m also hoping to do a Goodreads giveaway around Valentine’s Day. So stay tuned for info.
  • Complete Outlines
    • I am currently outlining two stories: a supernatural novella based on a flash fiction piece I wrote back in 2015 and a contemporary romance (I know, right? No apocalypse? No evil forces? But, it’s happening.) I would like to have both outlines completed by the time we finish up the CWC project because I want to be ready to jump right into a project of my own. (I actually might work on both simultaneously because I think I might work better that way, but that’s a post for another day.)
Well, that’s all she (I?) wrote! I’m keeping it to three but they’re big goals, so I’ll be kept busy. My son will be turning five in March. My daughter’s three. Plus three dogs, a cat, and a husband. I’ll stay busy – worry not.
Thanks for reading!
