2nd Quarter 2017 Goals

So it’s past time to check in on my first quarter goals and write up some new ones!

Back in January, I set these goals:
  • Bring CWC’s Esyld’s Awakening to its conclusion
  • Promote The Scarring Underneath
  • Complete the outlines of my supernatural novella and my contemporary romance concept

I’m hip deep in my continuity edit of Esyld’s Awakening and will soon have it sent on to the next editors. Selecting that final chapter was a bittersweet experience and though I’ll miss reading fantastic submissions every week, I’ll be happy to submit chapters again and be on the other side of the emails.

The Scarring Underneath Goodreads giveaway went well. I’ll probably be doing another in the next few months. I created a shortened book trailer and did a little advertising with it. I am disappointed that it’s only gotten one review. But, I’m planning to work on that in the next quarter.

My outlines have gotten a little crazy! I’m now working on three books simultaneously, one of which is a series (probably a trilogy.) Nuts, right? The fantasy trilogy is just in the concept and world-building stages, but I’m excited about it. The contemporary romance is in the outlining and character development stages and is on the back burner. I’m adding to it when the inspiration comes. The supernatural novella is outlined and I’m working on fleshing it out and developing the characters a bit more.

I also submitted a couple of short pieces for consideration for anthologies, but haven’t heard anything back.
So, on to the new goals!

Second Quarter 2017 Goals:
  • Get more reviews for The Scarring Underneath and move forward to get it into some small bookstores
  • Begin outlining the fantasy trilogy
  • Submit a potential starter chapter for the CWC’s upcoming romance collaboration (You can, too! Details here.)
  • Complete all preparation and begin writing the supernatural novella

Again, not too many. My little sister is getting married this summer and I’m in the wedding party. My son graduates preschool soon. And we’re all eager to get out and enjoy the great outdoors as much as possible as the weather warms. Happy spring to you!
